Paintings held in light and memory.
Landscapes for the moments that stay with us.
Contemporary oil and mixed-media paintings that turn local walks, reflections, architecture and open skies into bright, familiar scenes. Each work begins with something small: a shift of light, a remembered view, or a line leading somewhere beyond the frame.
About James Lee
I paint the moments that catch and stay with me: light moving across a building, a reflection holding another version of a place, a road or path disappearing into the distance. My work begins in landscapes, but I am drawn as much to the details within them, the small signs, structures, flowers, clouds and manmade objects that turn a view into something personal.
